Young Russian-American baritone, Vitali Rozynko has recently returned from numerous successful debuts. Of his performance as Schaunard in Boston Lyric Opera’s new production of La Bohème, the Boston Globe wrote that the best singing came from Vitali Rozynko. He then went on to sing the Bach Cantatas with The American Bach Soloists at the Berkeley Festival in California and made his Italian debut at the Spoleto Festival as Salvatore in Menotti’s The Saint of Bleecker Street under the baton of Richard Hickox which was recorded for CHANDOS and nominated for a Grammy Award. He made his Boston Symphony Orchestra debut as the Imperial Commissioner in their gala production of Madama Butterfly under Seiji Ozawa in a celebration of Ozawa's twenty-five years as music director of the BSO. In addition, Mr. Rozynko made his Ravinia Festival debut as well as his Wigmore Hall debut in a gala performance celebrating Sidonie Gossen’s 100th Birthday.

Recent engagements have included Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s Cantatas with The American Bach Soloists, Masetto and the title role in Don Giovanni with Opera Colorado, and recently Masetto in the highly publicised Don Juan in Prague at the new Fisher Center for the Performing Arts. Engagements for the 2003-2004 season included a return to Opera Colorado as Schaunard in James Robinson's production of La Bohème, a debut as Silvio in I Pagliacci with Mississippi Opera, his debut as a soloist in Bernstein's Mass with L'Orchestre National d'Ile de France, and a return to Bard for Francesca Zambello's production of Shostakovich's The Nose.

During the Spring of 2005 Mr. Rozynko sang the leading role in Hindemith's opera Sancta Susanna in the acclaimed production by Margrith Vrenegoor with Opera Spanga which toured the Netherlands and later a performance of Mozart's Requiem in Paris. Mr. Rozynko has performed Harlekin in Ariadne auf Naxos in Lorenzo Mariani’s production with Opera Colorado, Baron Douphol in La Traviata, Sciarrone in Tosca, and the Second Philistine in Samson et Dalila at Cincinnati Opera, Bello in La Fanciulla del West with Santa Fe Opera, Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte at the Aldeburgh Festival, Nardo in a production by James Robert Carson of Die Gartnerin aus Liebe, Masetto in Don Giovanni at Chelsea Opera under Sir Colin Davis, Don Fernando in Fidelio with the Rochester Philharmonic, and Mr. Bluff in The Impresario at the Opera Theatre of Rochester.

Notable roles in his repertoire include Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Tarquinius in The Rape of Lucretia, Count Almaviva and Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Le Gendarme in Les Mamelles de Tiresias, Marcello in La Bohème, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Sid in Albert Herring, Maximillian in Candide, Prince Popolescu in Countess Maritza, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, and Germont in La Traviata, as well as an extensive repertoire of oratorio, song and sacred music. Notable conductors with whom he has worked include Sir Colin Davis, Seiji Ozawa, Leon Botstein, Kenneth Montgomery, Reinbert de Leeuw, Klauspeter Seibel, David Agler, Robert Spano, David Levi, Stephen Lord, Richard Hickox and John Fiore.

In Autumn 2006, Mr Rozynko sang the baritone solo in the Lyrische Symphonie by Zemlinsky with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. He then travelled to California to sing Germont in a new production of La Traviata with Opera San José, and to Spain to sing Jesus in the Johannes-Passion. He continued on to Het Concertgebouw in the Spring to sing the role of Deceit in Gerald Barry's opera The Triumph of Beauty and Deceit which marked his Concertgebouw debut.

During the summer 2007 Mr. Rozynko sang Marcello (La Boheme) in Italy. He then went on to perform the role of Allazim (Zaide) with Opera Trionfo in a new production by Elsina Jansen and Porgy Fransen which toured The Netherlands. As well, during the Autumn of 2007, Mr Rozynko returned to the Concertgebouw to take part in Zemlinsky's opera Der König Kandaules under Bernard Kontarsky. He then went on to Salamanca and Burgos, Spain to sing the role of Christ in Johannes Passion with Musica Poetica. In the Summer of 2008 Mr. Rozynko sang the role of Davenaut (Der Vampyr) in a new production for the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam, then followed that with Mozart's Requiem with Musica Poetica, as well as the bass soloist in I Pellegrini del Sepolcro del Nostro Signore by Hasse, which was performed throughout The Netherlands.

Upcoming engagements include a debut with L'Opera Royal de Wallonie as Escamillo in their new production of Carmen and a debut as Giacomo in a new production of Giovanna d'Arco with Rotterdamse Opera as well as creating the role of Vulk in the new opera Two Caravans by Guy Harries, which will be performed at the Kamer Opera Festival in Holland.

Mr. Rozynko studied at the Oberlin Conservatory, The Eastman School of Music and at The Royal Academy of Music, London.
